The National Safety Council is offering various courses in the upcoming weeks.
A defensive driving course will be offered from 6 to 10 p.m. on Jan. 28.
Locations for both courses will be at the Lansing Area Safety Council building, 3315 S. Pennsylvania Ave., in Lansing.
Focusing on the basic aspects of safe driving techniques, the class aims to instruct participants on avoiding accidents during adverse conditions or by the actions of others. The fee is $40 in advance or $50 at the door.
Additionally, the council’s course on CPR and first aid training for day-care providers and those interested will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 30. The class will teach individuals how to respond to emergency, health-related situations. The cost is $50 in advance or $60 at the door.
