Pretrial for MSU instructor rescheduled

The pretrial conference for an MSU instructor charged with kidnapping and first degree criminal sexual conduct has been rescheduled for 9 a.m. Friday in East Lansing’s 54-B District Court.

Takashi Higuchi, an instructor and resident in the College of Veterinary Medicine, was arraigned Thursday in East Lansing’s 54-B District Court on three counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of kidnapping. The charges stem from an encounter with a girl under the age of 16 who Higuchi allegedly met online. The conference originally was scheduled for Tuesday, but was rescheduled so Higuchi can hire an attorney.
