Student’s backpack stolen; driver’s license, debit, credit cards inside

A 21-year-old male student reported his backpack stolen Monday from the Main Library, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The student said he left his belongings unattended on the floor by his desk while he left to make a phone call and returned to find his backpack missing. The backpack was later returned to the circulation desk, but the student’s wallet was missing from it.

The black leather bifold wallet contained $4 in cash along with a driver’s license, debit card and credit card. A possible suspect is described as a male wearing a long white T-shirt and a black cap.

The incident is under investigation.
