Business owners expect better economy

Business owners in Michigan are anticipating better economic times in the future, according to a recent survey released in the semi-annual Future Business Index, a study funded by Lansing-based Accident Fund Insurance Company of America.

The percentage of small business owners who say they expect business to get better within the next six months has increased by 10 percentage points, the highest level since May 2006, according to the Michigan Information & Research Service Inc., or MIRS.

Business owners still are unhappy with the current economic situation; 80 percent say they are not satisfied with the economy.
