A 21-year-old male student reported a Pirelli tire stolen from his vehicle and replaced with a deflated Firestone tire, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The student parked his red 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix at 8 p.m. on Sunday in Lot 61 near Armstrong Hall. He returned at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday and noticed his rear driver’s side tire was completely flat. Upon further investigation, the student noticed the flat Firestone tire did not match his other three Pirelli tires. In addition to the actual tire, the rim from the vehicle also was reported stolen, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The Pirelli tire is valued at $93 and the rim is valued at $100. Police have no suspects and the incident is under investigation.
