Freshmen fifteen Q's

March 31, 2009

College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, at a new face on campus and his perspective of his new frontier.

Meet Paris Wilson

1. If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?

I know I would never be a wolverine. I think I would be a pug. … As ugly as they are, everyone loves them.

2. If you could meet one player on the basketball team, who would it be and why?

(Senior center Goran) Suton. He’s a beast. … He’s just the man.

3. Where is your favorite location at MSU?

Honestly, my favorite spot is the library. I am kind of like a nerd, so I like to go to the library. I get a burst of energy to succeed as a Spartan when I’m at the library.

4. What’s your major?

Social relations and policy in James Madison (College) with a teaching certificate.

5. If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why?

Flash, because I do so much, and I never have enough time to walk to different places. If I were Flash, I would be able to get to places on time, because I’m usually late.

6. What is your favorite late-night snack place, on or off campus?

Wings Over East Lansing or Menna’s (Joint).

7. What’s your pet peeve?

Unorganized people. I’m so organized and I like everything in order.

8. What’s your favorite Halloween costume that you’ve worn?

My favorite Halloween costume would have to be this alien costume that I wore for probably about six years. It scared everybody almost every year. Halloween is just fun to me.

9. Sweet or sour?

Sweet, because I’m a sweet guy.

10. If you could be any inanimate object, what would you be and why?

I would have to be a chair because it’s very helpful to people. Because after those long days of work, just sitting up or walking around campus, a chair comforts people.

11. Do you believe in karma?

Yes, that’s why I treat everybody with respect. I believe what goes around comes around. If you’re nice to me, I’ll be nice to you.

12. What’s your favorite cafeteria meal?

Case (Hall) has these quesadillas that we have every day, chicken and cheese.

13. What are you looking forward to most over the summer?

This summer I look forward to hopefully getting a summer job and the summer sports camp job. … I’m not going home.

14. What has been the most important event in your life?

Probably coming to MSU. Honestly, if I didn’t come to MSU, I don’t know where I would have been. … I’ve met some great people. … I’m in a family. I think MSU is the best decision I’ve made so far.

15. If you could use one word to describe yourself, what would it be?

Charismatic. I’m just such a warm person. … I just make everyone feel well, feel good about themselves. I like people to be happy.
