College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or fewer, at a new face on campus and her perspective of her new frontier.

MEET HAEMI KIM

1. Where is your favorite place to study at MSU?
I usually study at the student lounge in Armstrong (Hall), in Brody (Complex), fourth floor. I live on third floor, but there is no study lounge on the third floor so I go to the fourth floor.

2. What is your favorite food and why?
My favorite food? I usually eat anything. I don’t really have a favorite food. I don’t really eat that many vegetables, but other than that, I eat anything.

3. What’s your favorite cafeteria on campus?
Synder (Hall) for sure. They usually have good food, especially at Synder. They have rice Monday, so I make sure that I go there for lunch on Monday.

4. What’s your favorite place to shop?
Forever 21 or Somerset (Collection mall). They’re cheap, they have good clothes, good prices, which is good for me because I’m a poor college student.

5. Where is your hometown?
Troy.

6. Did you play any sports in high school?
I played lacrosse my sophomore year, and I quit. Oh, and I played golf for three years.

7. What’s your favorite sport to play?

Lacrosse.

8. Where’s the most exciting place you’ve ever been?

Las Vegas. Gambled. I walked around the street at night and it was really nice. They had a lot of shows; Treasure Island was there. They had a pirate show.

9. What’s your favorite holiday and why?

Christmas for sure, because first of all winter break is really long, a month, which I love. Christmas because I don’t really do anything but I get presents. Just the, you know, family gatherings.

10. If you could name your pet anything, what would you name it?

Cocoa? I don’t know, that was the first thing — I was thinking of Cocoa Puffs and I was like, “Oh, I could call it Cocoa!”

11. What does your favorite color say about you?

Blue. I don’t know, it’s just kind of like a blue ocean, kind of cool.

12. Why did you want to become an accounting major?

It might change, but I want to major in accounting because I’ve always been interested in business and also my cousin also majored in business and he was telling me about how I could get a good job and a good salary.

13. If you ever put out an album, what would it be called?
“Be Cool Like Me.”

14. Where do you want to live after you graduate?
There are so many places I want to go, probably California. I heard it’s really nice, warm weather, probably better than Michigan.

15. If you could bring three things on a deserted island, what would you bring?
Food. A house, if I can bring a house. Water.
