Robinson

College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time.

The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, at a new face on campus and her perspective of her new frontier.

MEET BECCA ROBINSON

1. What is your major?
?I’m an astrophysics major in Lyman Briggs.

2. What is your hometown?
?Williamston, Mich.

3. What campus activities are you in?
?I’m in e5m, which is a ?theater group against sexual assault and relationship violence.

4. What’s your favorite thing about MSU?
?Definitely the people, because everyone here is ?so diverse and very, very kind.

5. What’s the most memorable thing you’ve done at MSU?
?I remember one day I, like, wrote this random song on my guitar. ?I went up and we made a video, like 3,000 videos, of me doing this song, wandering around the entire dorm. … We got the weirdest looks.

6. If you were to be banished to the moon, what would you bring with you?
?I’d bring my piano and I’d bring my fish, Liam. Liam and I, we have a bond. That’s a good bond to have: a girl and her fish.

7. If you were to put your iPod on shuffle right now, what would be the first song to pop up??
Most likely a show tune. Or something really embarrassing from the ’90s.

8. What do you dislike about your job in the cafeteria?
?I guess my least favorite thing would be going into a shift and having people be in really terrible moods. Because that just rubs off on me, and then I’m just in a terrible mood for the rest of the day.

9. The cafeteria food: lethal or delicious?
?I do work there and I do make some of it, so I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s lethal, but I also would not go to the other extreme with (it) being delicious.

10. What’s your dream job??
I’m an actress, but I’m realistic. The theater world, it’s a tough one. It’s make or break. What I’d really like to do is travel.

11. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
?I’d like to go back to Ireland and actually do some astrophysics research there and then end up building my own observatory that’s kind of like half museum for kids, because there’s not a whole lot to do in Ireland, in all honesty.

12. Biggest fear when coming to college?
?I was a little anxious about, I don’t know, being here in general, because I had never, obviously, been to college before.
