Dance marathon seeks recruits

February 1, 2009

MSU Dance Marathon will host recruitment meetings all week to find dancers willing to spend 12 hours on their feet to raise money for the MSU Children’s Health Initiative.

There will be meetings at 8 p.m. Monday, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 p.m. Thursday in 115 Eppley Center.

Other meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in 114 Bessey Hall and 4 p.m. Friday in 214 IM Sports-Circle dance studio.

The mission of the MSU Children’s Health Initiative is to create a more comprehensive health care system for Mid-Michigan children and to build a health care facility close to campus, said Samantha Wilson, co-president of the MSU Dance Marathon.

Dancers will raise money by collecting donations from sponsors and pledging to dance for the whole 12 hours. The iDance event will be from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m., March 28-29 at IM Sports-Circle.

For more information or to register to dance, go to www.msudm.org.

“It’s an incredibly fun event,” Wilson said. “It’s a great cause.”
