There are two things I love above all other things: baby animals and baked goods. So, when I came across a picture of the adorably named Cubcakes, I jumped at the opportunity to personalize them to my liking and have a little bear cub forest of my own.
If you would like to have your own little baby bear troop to keep you company soon, here is what you will need to make it happen.
1 box chocolate cake mix (any brand will do)
Ingredients listed on the box (normally vegetable oil, eggs and water)
1 container of chocolate frosting (any brand will do)
2 bags of M&M’s
1 tube of black decorating gel
1 bag of mini Oreos
Baking cups
Bake the cupcakes to your desired size, taking into account that a larger cupcake may do the bear cubs more justice.
Let them cool and frost them with the chocolate frosting.
Take the M&M’s and give the cubs eyes. Personally, I like when the eyes match, but that’s just me.
Separate the mini Oreos into halves and remove the frosting from both sides. Place one half under the eyes for the nose and shove into the top of the cupcake above the eyes, as shown.
Add a different colored M&M to the center of the nose, using the frosting gel to secure it. For a finishing touch, draw in pupils and a mouth with the black gel frosting.
Ta-da! And there you have it, boys and girls. Not only have you created the cutest little chocolate treat in existence, but a brand new batch of buddies to coo at.
