Money stolen from Akers Hall dorm room Sunday

Three MSU students had $251 stolen from their West Akers Hall room while they slept early Sunday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The theft occurred after the students allowed the suspect, who had been visiting one of the students’ brother, to enter the room.

The suspect left the room before returning around 3 a.m. The suspect fled the room when one of the students woke to the sound of him going through their belongings. The students have attempted to contact the suspect, McGlothian-Taylor said.

The suspect is described as a male with black hair, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds, wearing a black hat.
