College is a whole new world for those freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, at a new face on campus and his perspective on his new frontier.

Meet Baha Elkhatib

1) What is your major?

Physiology, I’m premedical.

2) Where do you live on campus?

I live in West Circle in Williams Hall.

3) Where are you from?

I’m from Jordan. I’m an international student.

4) What is your favorite class that you have taken so far?

I really liked my ISS (315) class last semester.

5) What everyday skill do you wish you were better at?

I wish I just got some more exercise in.

6) Where is your most productive place to go and study?

The (Main) Library. The quiet part — I don’t know what it’s called.

7) What college would you have wanted to attend if you didn’t come to MSU?

MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

8) What is the most fun you’ve had here at MSU so far?

Whenever I play a nice basketball or soccer game, I have a lot of fun.

9) What is your favorite Disney movie?

“The Lion King.”

10) What is your biggest pet peeve?

I hate when people hum a lot.

11) What is your dream job?

I want to be a cardiovascular surgeon.

12) What’s your favorite food?

This Arabic food … it’s grape leaves stuffed with rice and vegetables called Dawali.

13) If you could eat a meal with anyone, dead or alive, who would you choose?

I would choose my mom and dad. I haven’t seen them in a while, and I would like to hang out with them.

14) If you could have one super power, what would it be?

Read people’s minds.

15) If you could be your current age in any other decade, which decade, or even year, would you choose?

I’d go back to medieval times.
