Attempted car theft leaves vehicle damaged

Someone tried to steal a vehicle from the front parking area of Abbot Hall during Halloween weekend, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

A 21-year-old student parked her 1996 burgundy Dodge Stratus at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 31, and found the car damaged when she returned Sunday.

The car doors were locked, McGlothian-Taylor said.

The plastic panel below the steering wheel was broken off and the door locks were punched in.

The damage is estimated at $500 and there are no suspects.
