Freshman fifteen Q's

College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, at a new face on campus and her perspective of her new frontier.

Meet Heather Taggart

1. What is your major?
My major is communication.

2. Where are you from?
White Lake, Mich.

3. Where do you live?
North Wonders Hall.

4. What is your method for curing colds?
I stock up on cough drops, DayQuil, NyQuil and I always drink plenty of orange juice.

5. What was your strangest habit?
My mom told me that I used to always jump and hop around a lot when I was excited.

6. How long can you hold your breath under water?
Not very long. I always cheat in those competitions.

7. What three songs do you consider to be perfect for karaoke? Why?
YMCA” because everyone knows it. “Barbie Girl” because it is always funny and “Love Shack” because the guy and girl parts are funny.

8. How was your Halloween weekend?
It was hectic. I had friends come up and I had to make room and entertain them. It was a lot of fun, though.

9. Who is your favorite breakfast cereal mascot? Why?
My favorite breakfast cereal mascots are the Rice Krispies trio because they each have their own personalities and the cereal is great.

10. If you could go back to Welcome Weekend and give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be?
My advice is to always wear comfortable shoes.

11. Would you rather have the ability to fly or possess superhuman strength? Why?
I would want to fly because I could get to class faster.

12. What is your favorite song from the 1990s? Why?
Every song from ‘N Sync because they are all cute and I thought they were good singers at the time.

13. What decade had the best style? Why?
I think right now has good style because it incorporates other decades.

14. Are people ever too old to watch cartoons? Why?
Never, because they always give you a good laugh, even if they’re dumb.

15. What is your favorite food to eat at sporting events? Why?
My favorite food to eat at sporting events are the nachos because they are always cheap and tasty.
