CK: I’ve struggled with this prediction all week. Do I pick Ohio State, the reigning Big Ten champs, or MSU, the up-and-rising team? All right, call me a homer. MSU wins and receiver B.J. Cunningham gets the No. 4 play in the Saturday edition of SportsCenter’s “Top 10 Plays” with a one-handed grab in the corner of the end zone.
MSU 23, Ohio State 20
JC: MSU hasn’t beaten the Buckeyes since 1999. Who am I to try and change a trend? MSU’s suspect run defense and inability to spring running back Javon Ringer for a game-changing touchdown are the kiss of death. Chris Wells runs for 150 yards and the Buckeyes defense contains the Spartans’ offense.
Ohio State 24, MSU 17
AA: MSU plays 45 minutes of mistake-free football, but then things begin to unravel. Senior quarterback Brian Hoyer throws an interception to cornerback Malcolm Jenkins, who sets the table for Wells’ second touchdown plunge of the afternoon. The Buckeyes thwart MSU’s comeback attempt and roll to victory.
Ohio State 24, MSU 20
RH: I think we’ll be able to shut down their run game and force them to put the game in quarterback Terrelle Pryor’s hands. If we can get after the run and put them in passing situations, we can make them one-dimensional. Offensively, we’re going to establish the run early and then hit them with play action.
MSU 17, Ohio State 10

CK: Even though the Tigers lost last week to knock this game down a bit, this will still be a heck of a game as it marks back-to-back weeks with two of the top quarterbacks in the nation squaring off. For the second straight week Texas’ Colt McCoy gets the better of his Big 12 counterparts as he leads the Longhorns to a 7-0 mark. Hook ‘em Horns!
Texas 45, Mizzou 35
JC: College football has had a trend of No. 1 teams dropping games early in their rankings recently. And who am I to try and change a trend? Missouri comes off its conference loss to Oklahoma State with a rejuvenated offense and Texas doesn’t have the necessary focus to contain Tigers quarterback Chase Daniel.
Mizzou 38, Texas 30
AA: If Texas has ever played a “trap game” against the No. 11 team in the nation, this is it. The Longhorns are coming off one of the most emotionally charged wins in program history, while Missouri is coming off a devastating home loss. If Texas underestimates the Tigers, it could get ugly, but the ‘Horns will escape.
Texas 35, Mizzou 31
RH: I’m going with Texas. They’re riding high and the momentum is in their favor after their big win. Some of these games, you have to be protective after a big win, but they’ll definitely be able to get up for a big game after the Oklahoma win. I look for (Texas wide receiver Jordan) Shipley to have a big game.
Texas 24, Mizzou 21

CK: Quick question: Why didn’t we prog the U-M/Toledo game last week? Oh, it was supposed to be a blowout? But then why did U-M lose? So since Penn State is supposed to blow out U-M, does that mean the Wolverines have a chance? Sorry, but no. Just check out the score and find another game to watch during that time slot.
Penn State 69, U-M 3
JC: Penn State has dropped nine straight games to the Wolverines. And who am I to try and change a trend? OK, maybe I can do it in extreme circumstances, such as the complete destruction of a football team from Ann Arbor. Penn State continues Big Blue’s misery with a solid win to snap the streak.
Penn State 31, U-M 13
AA: Michigan fans, grab your favorite bathing suits — this one’s going to be a blood bath. Penn State’s Evan Royster leaves trackmarks on U-M linebacker Obi Ezeh’s back during his third touchdown run, while a big hit from Lions defensive end Aaron Maybin renders U-M quarterback Steve Threet worthless. Oh, wait …
Penn State 42, U-M 6
RH: I don’t think Michigan has any firepower to match up. I think they’ll be ready to play, but they ride on momentum swings and if they don’t get the early momentum swings, they won’t be able to keep up. They have no chance. You’re going to hear the Nittany Lions roaring all day.
