Florida Atlantic vs. MSU

CK: This is a game that scares me. Florida Atlantic has a vaunted passing attack with quarterback Rusty Smith and through the first two games I have been a little worried about the secondary. Still, I have to go with the Spartans and Javon Ringer, who will shock no one by having another big day.
MSU 41, Florida Atlantic 27
JC: There are plenty of reasons to like Florida Atlantic keeping Saturday’s game close — an All-Conference quarterback, a great tight end and an experienced coach, to name a few. MSU will continue to pound the ball with Javon Ringer in a game where the score ends up closer than the game really is.
MSU 31, Florida Atlantic 21
AA: Florida Atlantic’s lethal passing attack poses a threat to MSU’s secondary, but that should be the extent of MSU’s worries. Florida Atlantic’s defense is as feeble as a sand castle, and MSU running back Javon Ringer is stronger than a gust of wind. Ringer leaves MSU feeling as calm as a beach.
MSU 52, Florida Atlantic 17
MB: With poor weather looming, this will be MSU’s game to win. The Spartans’ power running attack will lead them to another nonconference win, as Javon Ringer goes for 126 yards and four touchdowns. Mark Dantonio keeps the ball out of Brian Hoyer’s hands, resting him up for next week’s battle with Notre Dame.

CK: This has nothing to do with the fact that Ohio State struggled against Ohio, I just think USC is the better team. The Trojans only played one game against a struggling Virginia team, but looked impressive. The Trojans dominated on the ground and through the air. Mark Sanchez had three touchdowns passes.
USC 38, Ohio State 20
JC: ABC really needs to stop giving each football Saturday a nickname. This weekend’s moniker: “The Collision in the Coliseum.” Ohio State looked like they ran into a triple-layer brick wall last week against lowly Ohio and won’t be able to recover against USC’s speedy defense.
USC 28, Ohio State 17
AA: I’ve got a funny feeling the Trojans will underestimate Ohio State’s talent in this game. Healthy or not, Beanie Wells’ mere presence in Ohio State’s backfield would open up the Buckeyes’ offense. He’s listed as “doubtful,” but coaches are notorious for fudging injury reports before big games.
USC 21, Ohio State 24
MB: I would say this would be a close one, but news broke Thursday that Chris Wells is doubtful for the game. If you saw the Buckeyes’ pitiful showing against Ohio last week, you know losing Wells is not the best thing for them at this point. Meanwhile, USC looked fantastic at Virginia and will roll to victory.

CK: Wisconsin is one of those teams that doesn’t scare anyone. Entering the game, you don’t think anything of the Badgers. During the game, you’re convinced you’ll come out on top. After the game, you’ll wonder, “What the heck just happened?” The Badgers are never spectacular, but they almost always win.
Wisconsin 28, Fresno State 17
JC: You’ve got five seconds to name Wisconsin’s starting quarterback! Go! Five, four, three, two, one time. And that’s exactly why Fresno State wins at home this weekend. The Bulldogs stack the box to stop tailback P.J. Hill and senior quarterback Allan Evridge doesn’t make enough big throws.
Fresno State 31, Wisconsin 13
AA: Fresno State is poised to be the school this season that has BCS haters clamoring for a playoff system. Although they play in the WAC, the Bulldogs fly like a Pac-10 team. Assuming Fresno stacks the box to stop P.J. Hill, the pressure will be on first-year starter Allan Evridge to beat them through the air.
Fresno State 28, Wisconsin 24
MB: I already bet against Ohio State, so I can’t hate on the Big Ten anymore. While Wisconsin might not be the most exciting team, it’ll have enough to get by Fresno State in this one. Although P.J. Hill is probably the only Wisconsin player I can name, he’s good enough to make me believe in the Badgers.
