A grand opening celebration to commemorate the new MSU Federal Credit Union headquarters will be held Thursday at the headquarters building, 3777 West Road.
University officials will be on hand to celebrate the conclusion of two years’ construction as the eighth MSUFCU branch is officially ushered in to the community.
“We’re looking forward to offering some green services, like check payment online,” said Joyce M. Banish, vice president of marketing for MSUFCU. “We do save a lot of trees by using online means.”
The old headquarters, located at 600 E. Crescent Road, was converted into an additional branch as the credit union searched for more space to keep up with growing business, Banish said.
The new headquarters features recycled material, low-voltage lighting and water collection gardens in an effort to be environmentally-friendly, Banish said.
“We knew we needed a new headquarters and looked for property in East Lansing because that’s our home,” Banish said. “It’s quite a nice building.”
