Freshman fifteen Q's

Kristen Overberg

College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, of a new face on campus and her perspective on her new frontier.

Meet Kristen Overberg

1. Where are you from?

Brighton, Mich.

2. What’s your major?

(Premedical), but I think I might go into zoology, too.

3. What was your first dorm choice? Why?

Wonders (Hall) because I’d heard good things about it, and it’s close to a lot of buildings.

4. What’s your favorite book?

“Catch-22,” because Joseph Heller does such an excellent job. He captures the madness. The book in itself works because of its contradictions.

5. What are you looking forward to the most this semester?

I guess the whole college class experience.

6. What are your thoughts about AOP?

I thought it was helpful and a little shocking spending the night. I thought it was cool and useful.

7. What’s your favorite song right now?

“Paper Planes” from the “Pineapple Express” soundtrack because it’s catchy.

8. Who is your favorite actor?

Alan Arkin and Heath Ledger. (Ledger) was amazing and seemed down to earth. (Arkin) is an excellent actor.

9. What’s your favorite type of music?

I listen to alternative. I like Weezer, The Bravery and stuff like that.

10. How was the moving-in process?

It wasn’t bad and didn’t take as long as I thought it would take. I thought it was pretty easy.

11. If your life was a movie, who would play you?

Ellen Page because she’s quirky and kind of weird, and I’m kind of weird, too.

12. What was the best movie you’ve seen all summer? Why?

“The Dark Knight” because I thought Heath Ledger was amazing.
