The MSU football team announced Thursday that senior quarterback Brian Hoyer, senior running back Javon Ringer, senior defensive tackle Justin Kershaw and senior strong safety Otis Wiley were selected by their teammates as captains for the 2008 season.
After achieving personal successes in 2007, Hoyer and Ringer are the key cogs in what’s expected to be a dangerous offensive attack.
Kershaw is a three-year starter who set career-best marks in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks last year. Wiley, who’s entering his third season as a starter in the MSU secondary, is moving to strong safety after spending the past two years as a free safety.
