E.L. tech center to open in October

The city of East Lansing, along with other partners, in October, will open the Technology Innovation Center above Barnes & Noble Booksellers on Grand River Avenue, according to a press release.

The center will offer help to technology startups in the area and will have 7,000 square feet of renovated space.

There also will be 18,000 square feet for other businesses.

Other partners of the project include the Lansing Regional SmartZone, the Downtown Development Authority and the Local Development Finance Authority.

The center is meant to help the Mid-Michigan economy and create new jobs. The city already has begun leasing space to startups and businesses.

An unveiling date has not been announced.
