What type of role do you think Heath Ledger’s death had in people coming to see “The Dark Knight?”
“I think (Ledger’s death) broadens the scope of people that may want to see it. People who are not necessarily a comic book or Batman fan, but maybe a Heath Ledger fan, would want to go see it.”
Michael Murphy
2008 finance graduate
“I think people were kind of disappointed that he died and just felt a loss so they might have felt obligated to go.”
Lynda Stinson
biochemistry senior
“I definitely think (Ledger’s death) hyped up (the movie) even more than it would have if he was still alive … It’s his final work so it’s more appealing to everyone.”
Kyle Kish
telecommunication, information studies and media junior
“I’m sure it had a huge role in people coming out to see it, the rumors about his death was that the part (he played) made him depressed enough to die so that inspired people to go see it.”
Danielle Woerdeman
computer engineering junior
“Maybe some people went (to the movie) because of that, but I think the hype around the movie was big enough … I think the film itself had enough weight to do what it did (in the box office).”
Phill Pappas
psychology senior
“It definitely gave the film a lot more publicity.”
Asra Shaik
physiology sophomore
