$1,000 of wire stolen; multiple thieves likely
Several 100-foot cables of copper electrical wire were stolen from Big Ten Room A at the Kellogg Center between June 15 at midnight and July 13 at 11 p.m., MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
A 57-year-old male university employee who reported the items missing estimated the value of the wire to be $1,000, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The employee said that because the wires are heavy, it would take more than one person to steal them. Several keys were issued to the room, but the employee does not believe the suspect to be a fellow worker, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The case is still under investigation.
