On duty lifeguards’ items taken from IM Sports-West
Two lifeguards at the IM Sports-West swimming pool had a number of items stolen Friday between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
Two lifeguards at the IM Sports-West swimming pool had a number of items stolen Friday between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The lifeguards left their backpacks unattended on the bleachers next to the indoor pool while they were monitoring the outdoor swimming pool, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The first complainant, a 21-year-old male student, had a wallet and cell phone taken out of his backpack, which he later found with the items missing from inside, McGlothian-Taylor said. The wallet contained money, a credit card, identification and gift certificates.
The second complainant, a 19-year-old male, had his wallet and cell phone taken as well as his backpack, McGlothian-Taylor said. The wallet contained identification, a Meijer credit card, an ATM card, and money.
The case is still under investigation.
