Laptop taken from Main Library, feet from owner
A $1,000 Sony Vaio laptop was stolen from the first floor of the Main Library at 4:10 p.m. Monday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
A $1,000 Sony Vaio laptop was stolen from the first floor of the Main Library at 4:10 p.m. Monday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The victim, a 45-year-old female student, was 5 feet away from her computer when a male suspect picked up the laptop and started to walk away with it, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The victim started to call out to the suspect and follow him out of the library with her laptop. Three witnesses described the suspect as 6 feet 3 inches, about 300 pounds and 19 to 20 years old, McGlothian-Taylor said.
One of the witnesses continued to chase the suspect out of the library as the victim called the police, McGlothian-Taylor said.
The case is still under investigation. Any further information on the suspect can be given to the MSU police.
