College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time.
The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, at a new face on campus and her perspective on her new frontier.

Meet Elizabeth Hazelwood

1. What’s your major?

Packaging.

2. Where do you live?

Abbot (Hall).

3. Where are you from?

Oxford, Mich.

4. Where are you living next year?

Next year, I’m staying in Abbot (Hall) again.

5. Name three things you’d take with you to a desert island.

My iPod, my laptop and a book because, iPod, I love music, computer, so I can keep in touch with everyone and (a book because) I love to read.

6. What are your plans for next year?

Gonna get a job, not sure yet, but got to get some money.

7. What’s your favorite place on campus?

Probably the International Center — I like how everyone’s around, there’s a lot of different kinds of people.

8. What’s been the best part about your freshman year?

Just meeting all my new college friends and having a good time.

9. Is there anything you’d do differently?

I’d study harder.

10. What’s playing on your iPod right now?

Probably Jack’s Mannequin or country.

11. How are you planning on spending your summer?

I’m just getting a job for next summer, (and am going to) save money for next year.

12. What are you watching on TV right now?

Right now, I’m watching “The Hills.” I like the drama.

13. Where do you go when you eat off campus?

I don’t eat out that often, but when I do, I usually go to BTB (Burrito).

14. How do you get around on campus?

I walk or take the bus.

15. Do you have a job?

When I go home, I’m going to (umpire) softball games, and I teach swim lessons.
