MSU softball player Gina Mondo was named the Big Ten Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Mondo had 11 hits in the seven games MSU played during spring break, including four multi-hit games. She batted .423 over the week.
She also hit a grand slam in a victory over No. 13 Baylor on Friday.
This season, Mondo has led the Spartans by batting .406 with six doubles and 26 hits. Her longest hitting streak has reached 10 games, and she is six-for-six in stolen bases.
The softball team will travel Saturday to DeLand, Fla., for the Stetson Tournament.
