The State News How did you meet your roommate?
Allie Muchmore We met on bid day for our sorority last year.
SN What is unique about the way your room is decorated?
AM It’s all black and white – our decorations are – and we have two really big mural posters.
SN Why did you choose black and white?
AM We knew our room was like a dusty blue, and we thought black and white would go well with it.
Plus it’s chic. We didn’t want a little girlie room. We wanted it to be more grown up.
SN Do you have any other colors in your room?
AM No, not really.
SN What kind of wall decorations do you have?
AM We have two murals above our beds. One is of Audrey Hepburn and one is of Jackie Onassis.
SN What kind of furniture do you have?
AM We have two beds, a white chair from Ikea, and our desks, which are black, and our dressers that came with the room.
SN What do you like most about your room?
AM I like the posters, and there’s this really big frame I bought from Ikea and my parents had it made into a mirror for me and I really like that.
SN What kind of decorating advice can you give to others?
AM Keep it simple. Pick something you like and it’s easier to pick things that go together.
SN Is your room at MSU anything like your room at home?

Caroline Slater Not really. It’s a different color.

CS Stick with the things you like.
SN What do you like most about your room?

SN Is there anything in your room that is special to you?
CS I like that we have a lot of pictures hanging on the wall.
