The State News: What are you wearing?
Clarence A. Greene III: The shirt is from Express, one of my favorite stores. The pants are from Gap, another one of my favorite stores. The sweater vest is from Dillard’s in Ohio, and I just bought the shoes in Ohio, too. They’re Aldo.
SN: Where do you get your fashion inspiration?
CAG: I like to think of fashion ideas myself, to be independent. But that’s not completely true. When people look at me, I want them to see someone smart, an intellectual, so when I see people in that mode I take notes. I don’t like to copy outfits, but I do get inspiration from others.
SN: Of what you’re wearing now, what’s your favorite piece?
CAG: That’s tough. I’ll say my Spartan pin. I actually spent a whole day trying to find a little pin I could wear with most of my outfits. I lost it once for a month or so, and once I found a store that carried the same exact pin, I bought three, just in case.
SN: What role does your family play in your fashion?
CAG: I have four older sisters. They would like to have a role in what I wear, but I’m very independent and don’t let them decide for me.
