Caroline Dieck The Russian hat is my friend Sam Long’s. I have the hat because he broke a pair of my sunglasses and I guilt tripped him into letting me borrow it.

The jacket is from Urban Outfitters. The bag is from a vintage place called Mother Fletcher’s in Ferndale. I don’t know where the boots are from, my mom got them for me. I took the tights from my sister’s bedroom.

SN Where do you get fashion inspiration?

CD From old men, John Denver specifically. If I had to pick a girl I’d say Mia Farrow, she rules.

SN What first made you want to dress in a unique way?

CD I think it was just the irrepressible need to be obnoxious.

SN Do you succeed?

CD Yes I do, because people steal my clothing all the time.

SN Do you have advice for people trying to look nontraditional?

CD Be as out there as possible, you can pretty much wear anything if you think you look awesome.
