Along with glittery, white snow, winter brings chapped lips, dry skin, poor driving conditions, salt stains and every ice-related injury known to man. It’s enough to earn you a reward for being a winter warrior. Get out of the elements and indulge in this decadent recipe for hot chocolate.
In the know: Making hot chocolate
- 3 cups milk
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 instant nonfat dry milk powder
- 3/4 semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- chocolate whip topping
Directions:
In pot, combine milk, water, dry milk powder, chocolate chips and sugar.
Over medium to high heat, bring to boil and stir constantly.
Reduce heat to low and whisk occasionally for one to two minutes until the mixture is slightly thickened.
Top each serving with a dab of the chocolate whip topping.
Makes about 4 cups.
