Freshmen fifteen Q's

Kelsey Stewart

College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, at a new face on campus and her perspective on her new frontier.

Meet Kelsey Stewart

1. What is your major?

I’m a James Madison (College) freshman. I’m going to be in social relations and policy.

2. Where are you from?

I’m from Petoskey, Mich.

3. Where are you living?

Case Hall.

4. Did you know your roommate before this year?

Nope, but it worked out really good. We’re friends.

5. What is your favorite song right now?

‘Falling Slowly’ from the ‘Once’ soundtrack.

6. Why did you come to MSU?

(I came) for the James Madison program and because it’s close to home but far enough away.

7. What is your least favorite thing about living at school?

I miss the wilderness — the country-ish feel — because I’m from a small town. It’s hard to get used to all these buildings everywhere.

8. If your life were a movie, who would play you?

Julia Stiles because she’s sarcastic and I’m sarcastic.

9. What do you do for fun?

I like to watch movies. (My favorite) is ’10 Things I Hate About You.’

10. Are you involved in any organizations on campus?

I’m in Students for Barack Obama. I do phone banking and registering people to vote.

11. Any tough classes?

James Madison 202, Introduction to Public Affairs. There is a lot of reading and a lot of abstract things you have to grasp.

12. What is your favorite game?

Apples to Apples.

13. What is one thing you want to do before you graduate?

Go to Europe with a study abroad.

14. What is your Internet home page?

iGoogle.com

15. What are your spring break plans?

I’m going with the Students for Barack Obama down to Ohio to work for the campaign, and then I’m going to go home for a couple days.
