Police seek Max & Erma's robbers

January 17, 2008

Lansing Township police are seeking two suspects in the Sunday morning armed robbery of Max & Erma’s in Eastwood Towne Center.

The department received a call at 12:40 a.m. from employees of Max & Erma’s, 2515 Lake Lansing Road, in Lansing.

A group of workers leaving the restaurant were forced back inside by two men with firearms who demanded the restaurant’s receipts from that night.

Lansing Township police Chief Kay Hoffman said no one was harmed.

The suspects escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

Hoffman said one suspect was described as a 6-foot-3-inch, 220-pound man wearing dark clothing and a bandana. The other suspect was described as an about 6 feet tall, 200-pound man wearing gray clothing.

Hoffman said a police K-9 unit tracked the suspects to a nearby area where they are believed to have fled in a vehicle.

The incident still is under investigation.
