Backpack with almost $1000 in goods stolen

A backpack containing about $950 worth of contents was stolen from a locked locker at Jenison Field House on Wednesday between 11:25 a.m. and 12:10 p.m., MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The 28-year-old male student’s black North Face backpack, valued at $180, contained a $450 wedding band, a $20 Ironman Timex watch, a $210 jacket, two books worth a combined $140, a $25 external USB hard drive and $30 worth of bike accessories. The wedding band contained a ruby chip inset and was inscribed with scripture from Psalms 31:30, McGlothian-Taylor said. The victim’s pants were thrown into a nearby locker, McGlothian-Taylor said. There are no suspects in the theft.
