Golf team inks top recruit

November 15, 2007

MSU women’s golf head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll announced two newly signed recruits for the 2008-09 season.

Shannon Warner and Lindsey Solberg will make up the impressive 2012 recruiting class.

Warner, a Livonia native and two-time Division I state champion, was recently named Michigan’s 2007 Miss Golf. Among many career highlights is carding the lowest score in a Michigan high school two-day tournament, a 136 (69-67), which she achieved at the 2006 state championships.

Rounding out the class is Wisconsin state champion Solberg, who has twice been named Wisconsin PGA Junior Player of the Year. Solberg also holds the record for the lowest round ever shot by a high schooler, male or female, in Wisconsin, with a 65.
