Wedding dress disaster

A couple getting married at the Kellogg Center had a hitch in their plans to tie the knot Friday when the bride’s mom hung her daughter’s wedding dress on a ceiling sprinkler head, setting off the sprinkler system and filling a hotel room with six to eight inches of water, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The bride’s mother couldn’t find a place to hang the wedding dress in the room without it ruffling against the floor, McGlothian-Taylor said. She then slid the dress onto the sprinkler head, triggering the water works and setting off a fire alarm at the hotel. Officers responded to the call and the alarm was reset, but not before the water seeped down to the next floor, causing a segment of the ceiling to fall apart, McGlothian-Taylor said.
