Police Briefs 09/12/07

September 11, 2007

After reportedly wandering through Bailey Hall and asking students for money, a Lansing resident with no university affiliation was escorted off campus Sunday night, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. An 18-year-old male student reported to police that the 23-year-old entered his dorm room and asked for money, McGlothian-Taylor said. A student witness, 26, told police she watched the suspect approach students on the floor as well. When officers made contact with the suspect, he told police he was trying to find a ride back to the west side of Lansing after being stranded on campus. The suspect denied he was going room-to-room to ask students for money, McGlothian-Taylor said.

The suspect was issued a trespassing letter for entry without permission and was escorted off campus grounds, McGlothian-Taylor said.
