Freshmen fifteen Q's

Yoon Choi

College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, at a new face on campus and their perspective on their new frontier.

Meet Yoon Choi

1. Where are you from?

I’m originally from Korea, but I spent the last four years in Connecticut.

2. Where are you living this year?

Rather Hall.

3. Did you room blind?

Yes, it’s working out very good.

4. How many credits are you taking?

I’m taking 14 credits both semesters.

5. What is your major?

Finance. I would like to do something with money.

6. What is your favorite East Lansing restaurant to get take-out from?

Omi Sushi.

7. What is the worst part about living in the dorms?

The food! It’s not good.

8. What has been the hardest transition going from high school to college?

The language. I learned English when I lived in Connecticut.

9. How do you get around campus?

I take the bus every time to go to class. It takes time though.

10. What is your favorite part about MSU so far?

The people. I have met a lot of people playing games and hanging out.

11. What do you do to kill time in between classes?

Computer, do homework, play video games.

12. What is the most important thing you brought with you to MSU?

My laptop. I play games on it.

13. What was the deciding factor in choosing MSU?

The finance program.

14. What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you at MSU so far?

I got an MIP. The cops came into my room at 6 a.m. and gave me a breathalyzer.

15. What is the biggest difference between living in Michigan and living in Connecticut?

It’s more cold here. I have to buy warm clothes.
