College is a whole new world for many freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these brave explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions or less, at a new face at MSU and a perspective on his new frontier.
Freshmen fifteen Q's
1. Where are you from?
Prudenville, Mich.
2. Where are you living this year?
East Wilson Hall.
3. What is your major?
I’m majoring in chemical engineering and computer engineering.
4. Did you go in blind?
No, I knew my roommate from high school.
5. Have you met a lot of new people?
I met a couple of new people. Our whole floor seems pretty nice, and our suitemates are cool. We don’t see them that much, though, because their schedules are so different than ours.
6. Is the size of the campus an issue for you?
No, not really. I already know my way around campus pretty well. I ride a bike to get around.

7. How many credits are you taking?
I’m taking 16. A full load.
8. Are you going to get a job?
I’d like to get a job working for MSU’s Web site.
9. How is the food on campus?
It’s pretty good, actually. I’ve been here for summer soccer camps before, so I knew what to expect.

10. What’s your biggest adjustment so far?
Forcing myself to study because I never had to study in high school.
11. Do you have a girlfriend away from college? If so, how will that work out?
Yes, I do, and hopefully well. She’ll come here and I’ll go there. I don’t have a car here so it’s kind of hard to drive there.
12. What’s your biggest concern about MSU?
It’s weird figuring out how to get places and to get home. I have friends here who go home almost every week, so I can get a ride.
13. Do you have a lot more space with lofts?
Yeah, I’m so glad we got the lofts and carpet. We’ve got twice as much room than when we didn’t have it. We didn’t have it for like four days, so it wasn’t too bad.
14. Do you play any Xbox or Playstation online?
I finally got it online yesterday. It was kind of tricky. If you know something about computers it’s not too bad to set up. I definitely would have missed it.
15. What do you miss most about not living at home?
It’s not too bad, but like not having a stove to cook macaroni and stuff on, that’s kind of tough.
