Notre Dame football head coach Charlie Weis broke a sacred promise to his football team and fans by losing to MSU 31-14 on Saturday. In the summer of 2006, Weis told the Notre Dame faithful that they would never have to worry about losing to the Spartans again.
Well, Charlie, have you ever heard of the phrase, “Liar, liar, pants on fire?”
Hopefully, your pants aren’t on fire – we (and by we, we mean humanity) want you to keep as many clothes on as possible. If we had it our way, you’d wear several layers just in case you got hungry and had to eat your own shirt. We reiterate – nobody wants to see that.
But this isn’t the first time you’ve failed to live up to your word, is it, Charlie? We’ve (and this time, we mean the State News sports desk) talked to your closest friends and wife and they’re not too pleased to see you going back on your promises again. Note to Charlie: Don’t make promises that you know you can’t keep.
