When this nation sends its troops into harm’s way, they should be well taken care of when they return to us. They should not have to worry about their employment opportunities, education, health needs, or financial and psychological support.
None of them should suffer neglect or fall through the cracks of a slapdash system. We have no greater priority than to ensure that each and every one of them is given outstanding service.
In fact, as many times as these troops have been redeployed, extended and continuously placed in lineless, frontless urban combat, they should not have to worry about a darn thing the rest of their lives. What they have been asked to do has been asked of few other Americans.
