In the market for a new computer?
Apple Inc. has introduced the new iMac — a slim-line, widescreen computer with more options. Available as either a 20- or 24-inch model, these babies can be outfitted with as much memory as 1 TB, although standard options range from 250 GB to 320 GB.
As with other recent Apple computers, the iMac is outfitted with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, built-in iSight camera, remote control and all the applications to create movies, music and Web sites as easy as ever. Starting price is $1199.

Web kiosk to offer music downloads for iPod, iPhone
After Apple Inc. provided customers around the world with the equipment to download music, movies and videos, 22Moo International Pty Ltd is stepping in to help load up the gadgets with fresh material. 22Moo is a distributor of eyewear and Bluetooth accessories, and is launching a third-party iPod/iPhone-compatible Internet kiosk, called Digital Diner 9. Gateway Inc. could sell for $710 mil
Taiwanese company Acer Inc. plans to purchase Gateway Inc. for $710 million.
The deal moves Acer to the third largest vendor of personal computers, above China’s Lenovo Group.
The deal — expected to be finalized in December — will allow Acer to purchase Gateway for $1.90 per share. It was unanimously approved by both Gateway and Acer boards of directors.
