Take a peek behind the curtain and test drive the NEW StateNews.com today!

Editor's Note: Welcome to the new State News

August 26, 2007

The State News went under the knife this summer.

We’ve nipped and tucked our print edition, and created a completely new Web site at www.statenews.com.

There have been some drastic changes. We’ll be printing with a new press this week, with smaller pages, which is becoming a new standard in the industry. We took that change as an opportunity to create a fresher-looking paper that incorporates new ways to tell stories.

We’ve brought that same attitude to our Web site, where you will find audio slideshows, podcasts and videos. In an effort to better connect with you, we’ve also included an option to comment on stories. We want to hear from you immediately when a story grabs you, for better or worse.

You will also find blogs on our site, chronicling the highs and lows of the sports and entertainment worlds, with more to come later this year.

The look of The State News has changed. But you will find our commitment to covering the community has not.
