The 2007 East Lansing Centennial Birthday Bash will take place downtown from 5-8 p.m. Saturday. The event is free.
Topping the order of events will be a Guinness World Record attempt of the world's tallest cupcake tower. The free-standing tower will be made of 2,000 cupcakes donated by Meijer.
The Sea Cruisers will perform their first show of 1950s and '60s music at 5 p.m. Their second show will take the stage at 6:45 p.m.
Pinball Pete's, 220 Albert Ave., will provide free pinball machines, while face painters and street performers will be in attendance.
East Lansing mayor Samir Singh will speak at 6:30 p.m. Cupcakes from the tower and the city's official centennial ice cream also will be served for free.
