Boston College 84, Texas Tech 75

Boston College shot 52 percent from the field to knock out Bobby Knight and his 10th-seeded Red Raiders in the first round. Boston College's starting backcourt — Sean Marshall and Tyrese Rice — combined for 47 points to guide the Eagles.

Maryland 82, Davidson 70

Davidson held an eight-point second-half lead, but fourth-seeded Maryland fought back to win and advance to the second round. Guard Mike Jones led the way for the Terripans with 17 points. Davidson's Stephen Curry dropped in 30 points in a losing effort.

Georgetown 80, Belmont 55

Georgetown center Roy Hibbert recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds as second-seeded Georgetown breezed past Belmont.

Jessie Sapp chipped in 20 points for the Hoyas.

Texas A&M 68, Pennsylvania 52

Texas A&M found itself trailing 14th-seeded Pennsylvania in the second half, but it closed on a 31-13 run to run away with the first round matchup.

Guard Acie Law IV netted 20 points to guide the Aggies.
