Washington, D.C. — About 50 Lansing-area residents boarded a bus Friday night to attend a march the following day in Washington, D.C., against the war in Iraq.

Professional writing and anthropology senior Ashley Waldorf and English senior Nayantara Sen were among a handful of MSU students to make the trip, which was sponsored by the Greater Lansing Network Against War & Injustice.

Those onboard endured a 12-hour trip each way to spend the afternoon listening to speeches at the National Mall and marching with thousands of others from around the country.

"It was actually even bigger than I was expecting," Waldorf said.
