A 21-year-old male student reported eight textbooks worth $516 missing from an open section of his locker in the Duffy Daugherty Football Building on Tuesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student said the books came up missing Nov. 15, but waited to report the crime. A pass code is needed to enter the locker room where the books were stolen, but various people are allowed to enter the room throughout the day, McGlothian-Taylor said. There are no suspects.A 22-year-old male university employee reported his backpack missing between 1:45 p.m. and 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Hall, McGlothian-Taylor said. The graduate assistant was preparing for class when the fire alarm went off. He evacuated the building and returned after the alarm was proven to be false. He discovered his bag missing after his class ended, McGlothian-Taylor said. The $50 backpack contained several textbooks and a $130 Texas Instruments calculator when it was stolen.Laura Misjak
