A 2001 Subaru drove through Point Laundry, 2800 E. Grand River Ave., at about 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, said Sgt. Brad Bach of the Meridian Township Police Department. The driver of the car, who accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No one else was injured, Bach said. Dry cleaning attendant Monica Gonzalez was alone in the store folding laundry when the white sedan busted through the wall, crashing into a desk and cash register where the 30-year-old East Lansing resident normally sat. "I was in shock," she said. Although the debris was cleaned up within a few hours, the store had visible damage, including a chipped counter and an ATM machine with a missing metal face. Owner Nick Tesseris said he hired a restoration crew to clean and board up the wall that was demolished from the crash. Business continued throughout the day, he said.A 46-year-old female reported a duffel bag worth $410, including the items inside, missing from Jenison Field House on Sunday, Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The Eaton Rapids resident was at a youth wrestling tournament and left the bag at the top of the bleachers to watch her son's match. When she returned, it was missing, McGlothian-Taylor said. The bag, with "Eaton Rapids Wrestling" printed in gray on it, contained a portable PlayStation and game, a Motorola cell phone and children's clothing. A 22-year-old male student reported his coat, containing a wallet, keys and cell phone, missing from IM Sports-West between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student had set his coat on the floor while he played basketball and left it there when he went to another area to lift weights. When he returned, the coat was gone. The bifold wallet contained $125, a gift card and his driver's license, McGlothian-Taylor said.Laura Misjak
