Two Lansing residents were arrested shortly after breaking into an IM Sports-West locker Wednesday. Raynell Powell, 17, and Andrew Millay, 24, were charged with three felonies, possession of burglary tools, larceny from a building and conspiring to commit larceny, for the theft of a student's wallet and cell phone, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. A 19-year-old student and IM Sports-West employee was working in the men's locker room at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, when he heard a loud bang a few rows away from him. When the man went to investigate the sound, he saw a man stuff a tool down his pants and then leave with another man, McGlothian-Taylor said. McGlothian-Taylor wouldn't reveal what tool was used during the burglary. The employee alerted police who were able to locate the pair soon after as they exited the facility and entered a red four-door 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue, McGlothian-Taylor said. An 18-year-old student reported his Palm Pilot, cell phone and wallet containing $18 cash, various IDs, a bus pass and credit cards missing from his locked locker. The victim also indicated his lock was no longer attached to the locker, McGlothian-Taylor said. The suspects were issued a $25,000 cash bond and are scheduled to appear at East Lansing's 54-B District Court for a pretrial hearing on Tuesday.Maggie Lillis
