Alan Anderson waived by Charlotte Bobcats

December 1, 2006

The Charlotte Bobcats waived former MSU guard Alan Anderson on Monday.

The move leaves the Bobcats one shy of the league maximum of 15 players. Coach and general manager Bernie Bickerstaff said last week he would consider signing another point guard to lessen the load for Raymond Felton and Brevin Knight.

In his senior season at MSU, Anderson averaged 13.2 points and 5.6 rebounds as the Spartans advanced to the Final Four.

Anderson appeared in six of 13 games with the Bobcats this season and averaged 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds.

Anderson was signed by Charlotte before last season after going undrafted. He played in 36 games and averaged 5.8 points and 1.9 rebounds.

The move leaves Charlotte with 13 players on the active roster after center Ryan Hollins went to Fort Worth of the NBDL on Friday.
