WEB UPDATE: Granholm wins re-election

Jennifer Granholm was re-elected as Michigan's governor over Republican challenger Dick DeVos. With 29 percent of precincts reporting, the Democrat was leading 57 percent to 42 percent.

Democrat Debbie Stabenow took the lead — 58 percent to 40 percent — over Republican Michael Bouchard with 29 percent of precincts reporting. Bouchard had not conceded as of 10:20 p.m.

Sixty-two percent of voters had voted "yes" to Proposal 2, compared with 38 percent who voted "no" with 23 percent of precincts reporting. Proposal 2, or the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative, would ban some types of affirmative action in universities and government programs.
